FBI upozorňuje na falšované aj alternatívne batérie

Americké federálne agentúry aktuálne upozornili verejnosť na podvody a ďalšie problémy s inými batériami ako od výrobcov zariadení. Upozornenie je ale z niektorých aspektov čiastočne kontroverzné.

Upozornenie vydalo Intellectual Property Rights Center patriace pod imigračnú a colnú správu, do kompetencií ktorých spadajú falšované produkty, ale tiež spolu s FBI.

Oznámenie tvrdí, že pre súčasné problémy s nedostatkom rozličných komponentov podvodníci predávajú online množstvo falšovaných a neautorizovaných kópií batérií.

Oznámenie sa ale netýka len falšovaných batérií, ktoré sa tvária ako originálne batérie od výrobcov jednotlivých zariadení. Upozorňuje aj na používanie alternatívnych batérií od alternatívnych výrobcov.

Agentúry upozorňujú. že takéto batérie môžu byť nebezpečné a ohroziť bezpečnosť a zdravie spotrebiteľov. A hoci upozornenie uvádza, že nie všetci alternatívni výrobcovia sú rovnakí, celkovo upozorňuje užívateľov, aby sa ak je to možné vyhýbali batériám od iných výrobcov.

Problém s nekvalitou niektorých alternatívnych batérií nepochybne existuje a užívatelia by si mali dávať pozor na nekvalitné batérie, nie všetky alternatívne batérie ale musia byť nekvalitné. Naopak podobne ako u niektorých ďalších doplnkových produktov ako napríklad náplní do tlačiarní sa výrobcovia v niektorých prípadoch snažia dosiahnuť vyššie zisky predraženou cenou náhradných originálnych batérií a alternatívne batérie môžu byť rovnako kvalitné ale výrazne cenovo efektívnejšie.

Hoci upozornenie FBI obsahuje aj užitočné konkrétne čiastkové rady akým batériám sa vyhýbať a neobsahuje inštrukciu kupovať v každom prípade len originálne batérie od výrobcu zariadenia, spotrebiteľov dosť jasne celkovo odrádza od nákupu alternatívnych batérií.
